Youth Voice

Youth Voice, a non-partisan, non-profit organization, is pleased to announce that its Voice the Vote will begin with a kick-off event on Thursday, October 25th at the Lawlor Events Center at the University of Nevada, Reno.  Voice the Vote is a national effort led by Youth Voice to register as many 18-25 years olds as possible before the 2008 election.  As part of the program, we will be hosting similar events in Philadelphia and Washington, D.C. later this year.

The drive will target high school and university age students, a vital component of America’s voter base. At the drive, we will make available voter registration tables and informational resources for voter education, as well as provide other resources for youth, such as official representatives from various political parties and members of student-led political groups. 

We are also spearheading a grassroots effort to encourage young voters to register their peers.  Beginning now and through the end of the 2008 national election cycle, we are offering cash prizes to YV registered student teams who register the most young voters in their communities.  For more information, see ‘How do I get started?’ below, or feel free to contact one of our directors personally.  Good luck!
